Child Care Business Advisor

Zero to Five Montana is seeking an individual to lead work alongside the Small Business Development Center network to support the childcare system in MT.
We are seeking an individual with a strong background in business advising, business and financial planning, early childhood systems and programs, experience with the Small Business Development Centers, customer service, and effective communication.

Zero to Five Montana is fiscally sponsored by Intermountain Deaconess Children's Services and is funded through private and public entities to expand early childhood capacity across Montana. The MT Child Care Business Connect program is funded through a grant with the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS).

This is a full-time, 40-hour/week position and the salary range is $55,000 - $70,000 depending on experience and educational background. This position can be remote in Montana.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field AND two years of directly-related experience in lending, public accounting, business consulting, or business management; OR,
- Three years of directly-related experience in small business operations, small business ownership, or with an economic development organization.
- Experience in or support of the child care industry is desired, but not required.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
Counseling/Advising/Training
- Provides access to direct counseling services for child care related small businesses including assistance with business planning and start-up; financial planning and analysis including commercial loan application; and market research and planning
- Assesses the needs of the local small business community and delivers business training programs and other services
- Provides excellent customer service, referrals and resolutions to clients
- Works closely and cooperatively with related agencies on programmatic, financial, and compliance matters.
- Establishes and initiates effective and timely communications to assure sharing of information.
Data Collection and tracking
- Collects data and other information to assist clients in preparing business plans and financial forecasting
- Collects and reports data as necessary for Grant reporting and evaluation
Small Business Development Center Partner Duties
- Complies with Montana Small Business Development Center (MTSBDC) Lead Center processes and requirements
- Assists the MTSBDC Lead Center in the development of statewide private and public sector initiatives to increase and improve services to the small business community
- Reports client assistance activities into Neoserra (CRM) and maintains client case management system in accordance with existing policies and procedures
- Submit to the Lead Center reports of performance outcomes in accordance with the required checklist
- Adheres to the S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and ASBDC standards of conduct
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:
- Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality services.
- Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships
- Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of clients in accordance with applicable laws and policies
- Attends related trainings, workshops, and professional development
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Other duties, responsibilities and projects assigned under the direction of the Program Director and/or Executive Director.
- Mandatory trainings required for this position are completed by the due dates. A list of required trainings is assigned in the organization Learning Management System (LMS).
