Job Summary
The Patient Services Coordinator is one of the key staff of the Georgetown Eye Clinic, daily engaging with patients, physicians and clinic staff.
This position will be a point of contact for and have oversight of the clinic daily operations, maintaining a positive patient experience as a priority and ensuring cohesive teamwork occurs for coordinating care of patients. They will identify opportunities to improve operations and communication in the clinic; work with physicians on any schedule changes and reschedule patient appointments as needed; perform patient registration and schedule return appointments as needed; work with clinic staff to ensure surgeries are scheduled correctly and in a timely manner, performing financial verification for surgeries; liaison with multiple persons across UK HealthCare to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have extensive customer service experience, a demonstrated understanding of clinic operations, and the ability to communicate in a calm and helpful manner during stressful situations. Should also have the ability to demonstrate a high regard for attention to detail, a teamwork mindset, the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and work in multiple systems simultaneously.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
