Job Summary
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Disease and Nutrition is seeking an Instructor for a general hepatology and liver transplant hepatology fellowship training program. This is a one year non- ACGME fellowship. Duties include, but are not limited to: train under the instruction of a Digestive Diseases and Nutrition faculty member in 3 primary areas of hepatology. This position will train with the liver transplant attending on inpatient service, in the outpatient clinics for general hepatology and liver transplant hepatology clinics, and rotate in research.
This position also provides opportunities for professional development, including attending continuing education meetings, workshops, lectures, and other activities such as educational and professional activities of medical societies and participation in CME activities as a learner.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
