The Administrative Assistant is a full-time, calendar-year position that reports to the Director of Academic Advising and supports all the functions of the Office of Academic Advising. The office works with students at every level of academic standing across all academic programs and departments. There is a particular focus on supporting new first-year and transfer students, as well as students who are struggling academically.
The position serves as the front-line reception for the office and provides accurate and timely information about academic policies and procedures while interacting with students, parents/guardians, faculty, staff, and campus partners. The position maintains the confidentiality of sensitive student information, and exercises sound professional judgement while working independently and collectively within the office.

Responsibilities include the following:
- respond to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries;
- provide information about academic policies and procedures;
- coordinate faculty advisor assignments;
- process personal/medical leaves of absence;
- update student records; notify campus partners about changes in students' academic status;
- proof-read/send advising communications related to midterm feedback, major declarations, and other student outreach efforts;
- generate reports and assist with assessment;
- assist with budget planning and expenditures;
- update the office's web pages; and
- provide clerical/calendar support for the director and academic advisors in a collaborative working environment.
- Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum three years of experience working in an office setting
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent skills in written/verbal communication, organization, computing/spreadsheets, and technology platforms
- Demonstrated commitment and experience working with diverse populations
- Experience in a student-oriented learning environment and/or college setting are preferred
