Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Lecturer in Chemistry. This opening is for the 2024-2025 academic year and is a two-year appointment with the possibility of subsequent multi-year reappointments. Applications received by February 19, 2024, will receive fullest consideration. This search will remain open until filled.

The candidate would be expected to: teach 12 credits of undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses per semester, mainly in the areas of General Chemistry and in one of the 5 major areas of chemistry (Analytical, Biochemistry, Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry); contribute to department and University service and to demonstrate currency in their discipline, which may be done by a variety of possible activities.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics, which offers an ACS-certified degree in chemistry, includes 15 full-time faculty and two and a half support staff and serves approximately 500 undergraduate seeking degrees in chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory science.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Other Requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely-related field. Experience teaching chemistry at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching general chemistry lecture and laboratory courses and upper-level courses in at least one of the major the major areas of chemistry.
