The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company, is looking for an assistant sports editor to help lead editing, execute coverage plans and publish the work of sports reporters and photographers in print and online. This editor will also contribute to content to create the best daily local sports report. The editor will work with a team of sports reporters who are focused on covering high school sports and the athletic programs at Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University. This position reports to the high school and college sports editor. Candidates for this job should have experience editing content, print page design, posting breaking stories, planning coverage, organizing story budgets, making deadlines and familiarity with sports in Oklahoma. For this position, you have to be able to multitask as news breaks and stories are coming in on deadline. This position is based in Tulsa. The schedule for this position includes nights and weekends. As an editor, you will work with staff writers and staff photographers to contribute to the Tulsa World's daily report in print and online. This editor will focus on working with reporters on their stories, planning sports coverage and editing content, which will appear in the Tulsa World print edition, tulsaworld.com and in Tulsa World Magazine. In addition to creating content, this editor will also engage with audiences and connect content through social media and appear in Tulsa World videos and podcasts.
